Opened in 1913 as a small movie house, this theater survived various incarnations, including a long stint as a porn house, before closing in the 1970s. In 1994 it was refurbished and restored but still retains its image as a gritty survivor in a rough neighborhood. The three-tiered theater now serves as a multi-purpose venue hosting a diverse group of national acts, emerging recording artists, and the hottest local bands. On occasions the Bluebird still doubles as a movie hall, showing cult classics and carrying the annual Sick and Twisted Animation Festival. The bar has an excellent selection of microbrews, along with the usual domestics.

Handicap Accessibility: The main floor of The Bluebird Theatre is wheel chair accessible including Men's and Women's restrooms. Handicap access is available 10 minutes before door time. Please inform security when you arrive.

Age Restrictions: If you do not meet the age requirement for a show your parent can accompany you.

Box Office Hours

The box offices at the Bluebird Theater are open any night there is a show at that venue. The Box office opens about an hour before the specified door time and stays open until approximately 10 PM. Box office hours are subject to change.

Buying Tickets Without A Service Fee

NIPP has always provided its customers with the option of buying tickets without the dreaded service fee. These tickets are available at the Bluebird Theater’s box offices. Tickets for all NIPP shows are available at any of the three venues. You must buy them in person, at the box office with cash or a credit card. If you choose to buy them with a card, they are $2.00 more a piece.

Cancelled Show Refund Policy

If you have bought tickets to a show at the Bluebird Theatre that ends up cancelling and need to get a refund here’s how it works.
- First when a show cancels we notify Ticketweb and they send out automatic refunds to those customers who have purchased tickets online or over the phone.
- If you have an order that was placed online or over the phone and do not get an automatic refund, you need to contact Ticketweb at 1-866-666-8932.
- If you purchase your tickets through an outlet like Twist and Shout, or Independent Records you need to send your tickets along with your name and contact information to Ticketweb at:

If you purchased tickets through one of our venues in advance, return your tickets to your point of purchase for a refund. Be sure to check the schedule before you head down to a venue. Our box offices are only open the nights that there are shows.
